Teemu Takatalo

 


Teemu Takatalo (b. 1979) is best known for his artistic travels, art actions and process pieces. He graduated in 2006 from the Tampere Polytechnic, School of Art and Media . Everyday politics and alternative ways-of-living are often the topic of his utopic-documentative art. Takatalo is the founder of Centre of Urban Expeditions - an artistic city research unit. He has worked with the Floating Residence Project - building river boats  from recyclled materials - in Lithuania and Germany. Between 2007 and 2008 Takatalo walked from Brussels to Istanbul with his colleague Raila Knuuttila. Teemu has had few solo exhibitions and participated in several joint-exhibitions and video-art screenings in Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Belgium and Germany.
